“Everything perfect – great trip and great price
Our safari with Safari Tanzania was unforgettable! Thanks to their collaboration with local providers, they offered us a huge selection of accommodations. While other providers were often hard to reach and had limited options, Safari Tanzania put together a tailor-made tour perfectly suited to our budget and preferences. We saw the Big Five and experienced the Great Migration! Our guide was top-notch, and the organization ran smoothly. Absolutely recommended for a personalized and affordable dream vacation!

Daily Descriptions

Day 1: Arrival at Kilimanjaro Airport
Karibu Tanzania! After landing at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you'll be given a warm welcome by your safari coordinator. The scent of Africa hangs in the air as you're driven to Arusha the gateway to your 9-day safari in Tanzania.
At a detailed briefing, you'll learn everything about the adventure ahead. Your guide will go through the route with you, answer your questions and tailor the meals to your preferences. The anticipation is building – tomorrow your safari adventure begins!

Day 2: Safari in Lake Manyara National Park
A spectacular start to your safari! With your private guide and 4×4 Land Cruiser, you'll drive to Lake Manyara National parkNestled beneath the cliffs of the Manyara escarpment, on the edge of the Great Rift Valley, this park offers incredible ecological variety in a compact space.
Groundwater forest, bush savannah, baobab groves and algae-covered hot springs – a mosaic of habitats awaits you here. The park is famous for its tree-climbing lions and its spectacular birdlife. Keep an eye out for flamingos along the lakeshore and enjoy the breathtaking views!

Day 3: Lake Manyara – Serengeti
Today, your journey takes you to the legendary Serengeti! After breakfast, you'll set off west with picnic lunchboxes. The Serengeti is Tanzania's most famous national park and, at 14,763 square kilometers, also its largest – it borders Kenya's Masai Mara directly.
The endless grasslands, crisscrossed by the shadows of gnarled acacia trees, embody the image of untouched, wild Africa. The striking kopjes—large rock formations—host their own unique ecosystems. Even during the drive, you'll experience your first game drives with your experienced guide. Welcome to the heart of the wilderness!

Day 4-5: Full-day safaris in the Serengeti
Two full days in the pulse of nature! The Serengeti – in the Maasai language, „endless plains“ – is home to over two million large mammals. More than a million wildebeest, hundreds of thousands of zebras, and Thomson's gazelles roam this savanna.
The abundance of prey animals attracts large predators: lions, cheetahs, and hyenas follow the migrating herds. However, smaller inhabitants such as rock hyraxes, bat-eared foxes, mongooses, honey badgers, and jackals, as well as almost 500 bird species, make every game drive an experience. Depending on the season, you will experience parts of the legendary Great Migration.

Day 6: Serengeti – Ngorongoro Highlands via Olduvai
A day full of contrasts and history! After breakfast, you'll leave the Serengeti and drive towards Ngorongoro. Along the way, you'll stop at the famous Olduvai Gorge – it was here that anthropologists Louis and Mary Leakey made groundbreaking discoveries that contributed to the theory that human life originated in Africa.
In the evening, you will reach the Ngorongoro Highlands. The crater boasts the highest concentration of wildlife on Earth! A river, several swamps, a soda lake full of flamingos, forests, and open plains – this ecosystem is unique. The bull elephants here have particularly large tusks, due to the mineral-rich volcanic soil.

Day 7: Safari in the Ngorongoro Crater
The absolute highlight of your 9-day Tanzania safari! With picnic lunchboxes, you'll descend into the crater – a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the „eighth wonder of the world.“ On the crater floor, a half-day safari awaits you that you'll never forget.
Feel like you're on Noah's Ark! Africa's highest predator density lives in this natural amphitheater. Here you have the best chance to see the Big Five in one day – including the rare black rhinoceros. After a picnic by the crater lake overlooking flamingos, you'll return to the crater rim.

Day 8: Exploring Lake Eyasi
Today, a hidden gem of Tanzania awaits you! The drive takes you to Lake Eyasi – a place off the usual tourist paths. The shores of this picturesque lake are home to spectacular birdlife, making it a paradise for nature lovers.
The meadows along the riverbank are home to diverse wildlife: shy leopards, hippos, various monkey species, and especially flocks of flamingos – both lesser and greater flamingos. The peaceful atmosphere and pristine landscape offer the perfect contrast to the action-packed safari days before.

Day 9: Tarangire National Park – Return Flight
The crowning conclusion to your 9-day safari in Tanzania! After breakfast, you will drive to the Tarangire National park. The sun beats down mercilessly, the earth glows a dusty red, the grass is straw-yellow and brittle. The Tarangire River has shrunk to a shadow of its rainy season glory – yet it is teeming with life!
Thirsty nomads have wandered hundreds of kilometers because there is always water here. Huge herds of elephants gather between the majestic baobab trees – an unforgettable sight. After lunch and a final game drive, your transfer will take you to Kilimanjaro Airport. With a heart full of memories, you begin your journey home.

Customer testimonial
“Top-organized safari with fantastic memories
Safari Tanzania, as an intermediary, enabled us to have highly individualized planning and saved us the effort of comparing dozens of providers online. They adapted everything to our wishes, connected us with the ideal local team, and offered flexible, prompt support – a relaxed highlight full of lasting memories.
Many safari organizers pushed for a personal call, only to offer a package tour in the end. Safari Tanzania sent us an offer after the first email, which we then minimally adjusted and swapped out one accommodation. This saved my girlfriend and me a lot of effort. Thank you very much!
