Day 1: Flight from Zanzibar/Dar es Salaam to the Serengeti
Your 6-day safari in Tanzania begins with a spectacular experience – flying straight into the heart of the wilderness! From Zanzibar or Dar es Salaam, you'll take a bush plane to one of the Serengeti's airstrips. Even from the air, you'll get a sense of the endless expanses that await you.
On arrival, your guide will meet you and your safari adventure begins right away. The Serengeti – a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1981 – covers around 14,763 square kilometres and is home to over 1.5 million wildebeest, hundreds of thousands of zebras and an impressive predator population. Welcome to the pulse of the wild!
Day 2: Safari in Serengeti National Park
Getting up early pays off! Today, the whole day belongs to the legendary Serengeti. The name comes from the Maasai language and means "endless plain" – and that's exactly what awaits you: vast savannahs, iconic acacias and spectacular wildlife encounters.
On extended game drives, you'll search for lions, cheetahs, leopards and hyenas. The Serengeti is home to more than 4,000 lions and 1,000 leopards – Africa's "big cat capital"! With a little luck, you'll witness parts of the Great Migration, as millions of animals move across the savannah in search of fresh grass and water. A picnic lunch in the heart of the wilderness makes this day of your 6-day safari in Tanzania complete.
Day 3: Serengeti – Drive to the Ngorongoro Crater Rim
After one last morning game drive in the Serengeti, you'll travel to the rim of the Ngorongoro Crater. The drive itself is an experience in its own right – the landscape transforms dramatically as you reach the Ngorongoro Conservation Area.

It's like stepping into Noah's Ark! Around 25,000 large mammals and over 500 bird species live on the crater floor, which covers roughly 260 square kilometres. Here you have the best chance of spotting all of the Big Five in a single day – including the critically endangered black rhino, which occasionally grazes on the open grass plains. A picnic at a picturesque viewpoint rounds off this unforgettable day.
Day 5: Safari in Tarangire National Park
Karibu Tarangire! Early in the morning, you'll travel to Tarangire National Park the land of giants. The park takes its name from the Tarangire River, also known as the "river of warthogs," which becomes a lifeline for countless animals during the dry season.
Tarangire is famous for its huge elephant herds, often seen along the river. Majestic baobab trees define the landscape and provide a spectacular backdrop. Lions and leopards follow the herds of giraffes, buffalo and antelope. A special highlight: Tarangire is home to more bird species than anywhere else in the world! Day 6: Final game drive and return to Arusha
