Day 1: Arrival in Arusha
Your 7-day safari in Tanzania begins in Arushathe gateway to northern Tanzania's world-famous national parks. After arriving at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you'll be given a warm welcome and taken to your hotel. In the evening, you'll receive a detailed briefing on the adventure ahead. Use the time to get ready for the exciting days to come – the wild is calling!
Day 2: Safari in Tarangire National Park
After breakfast, you'll be picked up and driven around three hours to Tarangire Nationalpark. This park is the land of giants – famous for its huge elephant herds and the majestic, ancient baobab trees that tower over the landscape like sentinels.
From the open roof of your safari vehicle, you'll explore the seasonal swamps, savannahs and the Tarangire River, where the animals gather to drink. Keep an eye out for zebras, wildebeest, buffalo, giraffes and, of course, the imposing elephants. With a little luck, you'll also spot lions on the prowl or leopards resting lazily in the trees. A whole day of unforgettable wildlife viewing awaits you!
Day 3: Tarangire – Serengeti National Park
Today your journey takes you into the heart of the wild – the world-famous Serengeti! The drive itself is an experience in its own right: you'll pass through the fertile highlands of Karatu, where the Iraqw grow wheat, coffee and maize, and cross the Ngorongoro Conservation Area with breathtaking views of the crater.
Then the landscape transforms dramatically into the endless golden grass plains of the Serengeti – "siringet" means "endless plain" in the Maasai language. You'll reach the central Seronera region, one of the park's richest areas for wildlife. The Seronera River is a vital water source and draws an incredible variety of animals. In the afternoon, you'll enjoy your first game drive in this legendary UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Day 4: Serengeti – Ngorongoro Crater
Early risers are rewarded! Start the day with a cup of coffee and enjoy an unforgettable game drive at sunrise, when the savannah is bathed in golden light and the predators are at their most active. The Serengeti is home to over 4,000 lions, 1,000 leopards and 3,500 hyenas – so your chances of spectacular sightings are excellent!
Depending on the season, you may witness the legendary Great Migration, with millions of wildebeest and zebras moving across the plains. In the afternoon, your 7-day safari in Tanzania continues as you drive to the rim of the Ngorongoro Crater. The animals here roam freely across open, unfenced reserves – an authentic and unfiltered wilderness experience.
Day 5: Ngorongoro Crater – Lake Manyara
Today an absolute highlight awaits – the descent into the Ngorongoro Crater beginsThe largest intact volcanic caldera in the world, it is 610 metres deep and covers roughly 260 square kilometres. This UNESCO World Heritage Site is regarded as one of the Seven Natural Wonders of Africa and is home to around 25,000 large mammals.
Within just a few minutes you'll spot wildebeest, zebras, gazelles, elephants and some of the 500-plus bird species found here. The highest predator density in Africa gives you excellent chances of seeing the Big Five – with a little luck, you may even glimpse the critically endangered black rhino in the tall grass. After this unforgettable experience, you'll continue on to Lake Manyara National Park.
Day 6: Lake Manyara National Park & a Maasai Village
A whole day in the fascinating Lake Manyara National ParkThe lake takes up a large part of the park, and right at the entrance a dense forest begins at the foot of the Great Rift Valley. This national park is world-famous for its tree-climbing lions – a truly unique phenomenon!
On your game drives, you'll discover buffalo, giraffes, hippos and large troops of baboons. The lake itself is home to flamingos, ostriches, Egyptian geese and countless other bird species. In the afternoon, a special cultural experience awaits: a visit to a traditional Maasai village. The Maasai are known for proudly preserving their traditions and way of life – an authentic insight into a fascinating culture! In the evening, you'll drive back to Arusha.
Day 7: Departure from Arusha
The final day of your 7-day safari in Tanzania has arrived. With a heart full of unforgettable memories – majestic elephants in Tarangire, lions in the Serengeti, the natural wonder of the Ngorongoro Crater and the welcoming Maasai – you'll be taken to the airport.
