“Everything perfect – great trip and great price

Our safari with Safari Tanzania was unforgettable! Thanks to their collaboration with local providers, they offered us a huge selection of accommodations. While other providers were often hard to reach and had limited options, Safari Tanzania put together a tailor-made tour perfectly suited to our budget and preferences. We saw the Big Five and experienced the Great Migration! Our guide was top-notch, and the organization ran smoothly. Absolutely recommended for a personalized and affordable dream vacation!

Daily Descriptions

Day 1: Arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport

After landing at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you'll be given a warm welcome by your guide. The scent of Africa hangs in the air as you're driven to your hotel. The rest of the day is yours to enjoy as you please – relax and settle in to the pleasant atmosphere.

In the evening, you'll receive a detailed briefing on your upcoming 7-day safari in Tanzania. Your guide will introduce you to the adventure ahead and make sure you're thoroughly prepared. The anticipation is building – your unforgettable safari is ready to begin!

Day 2: Safari in Tarangire National Park

Your safari adventure begins at 8:00 AM! A scenic 3-hour drive will take you to the Tarangire Nationalpark – – the land of giants. This park is famous for its huge elephant herds and the majestic, ancient baobab trees that dominate the landscape.

The Tarangire River is the park's lifeline and draws countless animals during the dry season. On your full-day game drive, you'll look out for lions, leopards, buffalo, giraffes and the park's rich birdlife. The elephant families that live here in great numbers make for fascinating viewing. With this much scenic and wildlife variety, you won't know where to look first!

Day 3: Drive to the Serengeti

After breakfast, your journey takes you into the world-famous Serengeti! The drive itself is an experience in its own right – you'll pass through the fertile highlands where the Iraqw people grow wheat, coffee and maize. Along the way you'll cross the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and stop to admire the breathtaking Ngorongoro Crater from above.

The landscape transforms dramatically into the endless golden grass plains of the Serengeti – a name that comes from the Maasai language and means "endless plain." Around midday, you'll reach Tanzania's largest national park. A first game drive in the afternoon sets the tone for the days ahead.

Day 4: Full-day safari in Serengeti National Park

A whole day belongs to the Serengeti – a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1981 and home to the legendary Great Migration. Depending on the season, you'll see vast herds of wildebeest, zebras and gazelles moving across the savannah.

The Serengeti is home to an impressive predator population, with over 4,000 lions, 1,000 leopards and 3,500 hyenas – little wonder it's known as Africa's "big cat capital"! From November to December, the animals move from the northern woodlands to the southern grass plains, and from April to June they head north again.

Day 5: Serengeti to Ngorongoro Crater Rim

After breakfast, another exciting game drive in the Serengeti awaits. This is your chance to spot the Big Five – lion, elephant, buffalo, rhino and leopard. The animals roam freely across open, unfenced reserves, making for an authentic wilderness experience.

Afterwards, you'll travel to the rim of the Ngorongoro Crater. Your accommodation offers a front-row seat with a view that's almost too good to be true. From up here, look down into the vast caldera – glittering streams, wide grasslands and countless animals await you. Enjoy the sunset in shades of orange and red, and the anticipation of tomorrow's safari highlight on your 7-day safari in Tanzania.

Day 6: Safari in the Ngorongoro Crater – Return to Arusha

The breathtaking views at sunrise over the crater rim reward early risers! After a hearty breakfast, the descent into the Ngorongoro Crater begins – the "Eighth Wonder of the World" and a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1979.

Formed millions of years ago by a volcanic eruption, this crater is 610 metres deep and home to around 25,000 animals across roughly 260 square kilometres. It's like stepping into Noah's Ark! Within minutes you'll see wildebeest, zebras, gazelles, elephants and over 500 bird species. With a little luck, you'll glimpse the rare black rhino in the tall grass. After this unforgettable experience, you'll drive back to Arusha.

Day 7: Departure from Kilimanjaro International Airport

The final day of your 7-day safari in Tanzania has arrived. After breakfast, you'll be taken to Kilimanjaro International Airport for your return flight. With a heart full of unforgettable memories – majestic elephants, lions on the hunt and the endless expanses of the Serengeti – you'll set off for home.

Not quite ready to leave? No problem! Extend your trip with a relaxing beach holiday in Zanzibar – the perfect combination of safari adventure and tropical paradise. Ask us about the extension options. Your safari comes to an end, but the memories last forever!

Customer testimonial

“Top-organized safari with fantastic memories

Safari Tanzania, as an intermediary, enabled us to have highly individualized planning and saved us the effort of comparing dozens of providers online. They adapted everything to our wishes, connected us with the ideal local team, and offered flexible, prompt support – a relaxed highlight full of lasting memories.

Many safari organizers pushed for a personal call, only to offer a package tour in the end. Safari Tanzania sent us an offer after the first email, which we then minimally adjusted and swapped out one accommodation. This saved my girlfriend and me a lot of effort. Thank you very much!
