Daily Descriptions
Day 1: Arrival in Arusha
After landing at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you'll be given a warm welcome by your guide and driven to Arusha The scent of Africa hangs in the air!
As an option, you can take a city tour of Arusha – visit the lively Maasai market and the Arusha Museum and immerse yourself in the local culture. In the evening, you'll receive a detailed briefing on your 8-day safari in Tanzania.
Day 2: Safari in Lake Manyara National Park
After breakfast, you'll drive to Lake Manyara National Park – a compact gem with incredible variety. The salt lake that gives the park its name draws thousands of flamingos depending on the season and is home to around 500 bird species.
The park is famous for its tree-climbing lions – a rare phenomenon you may be lucky enough to witness here! The landscape changes dramatically, from sweeping grass plains through dense forest to imposing cliffs lined with ancient baobab trees. Elephants, buffalo, zebras, giraffes and baboons cross your path.
Day 3: Safari in Tarangire National Park
Welcome to the land of giants! Tarangire National Park is famous for having Tanzania's highest concentration of elephants and an impressive population of breeding birds. The majestic baobab trees define the landscape and create an almost mystical atmosphere.
During the dry season in particular, gazelles, zebras and wildebeest gather at the Tarangire River – and the predators are never far away. Lions, leopards and cheetahs wait for their chance. With a little luck, you'll also spot rarer species such as kudu, oryx and the long-necked gerenuk.
Day 4: Safari in the Ngorongoro Crater
Today one of the Seven Natural Wonders of Africa awaits – the Ngorongoro Crater beginsEarly in the morning, you'll descend into this breathtaking caldera for an unforgettable game drive. This UNESCO World Heritage Site is home to around 30,000 animals across roughly 260 square kilometres.
Elephants, zebras, buffalo, lions, wildebeest, flamingos, hippos, cheetahs – and, with a little luck, the rare black rhino. The high wildlife density makes the crater the best place to see the Big Five in a single day.
Day 5: Drive to Central Serengeti
After breakfast, your journey takes you into the famous Serengeti – the name means "endless plain" in the Maasai language, and today you'll understand exactly why! The drive itself is an experience in its own right as the landscape transforms into golden grass plains.
You'll reach the Central Serengeti in the early afternoon and begin your game drive right away. The Seronera region is regarded as Africa's "big cat capital" and offers spectacular wildlife viewing year-round. Watch a breathtaking sunset over the endless plains.
Day 6: Central Serengeti to Northern Serengeti (Migration)
After a morning game drive in the Central Serengeti, you'll head north to follow the legendary Great Migration. Over 1.5 million wildebeest and hundreds of thousands of zebras move across the savannah – one of the greatest natural spectacles in the world.
The best time for the dramatic crossings at the Mara River is from July to October. Watch as the herds bravely make their way across the crocodile-filled river.
Day 7: Northern Serengeti to Central Serengeti
Early in the morning, you'll set off on another game drive in the Northern Serengeti to witness the migration once more. River crossings are unpredictable, but your experienced guide knows – and will find – the best spots.
In the afternoon, you'll drive back to the Central Serengeti, enjoying further wildlife sightings along the way. Lions, leopards, cheetahs, hyenas – the Serengeti is a paradise for big cat lovers. Enjoy your last evening in the wild beneath Africa's breathtaking canopy of stars.
Day 8: Sunrise Safari and Fly-Out
Early in the morning, you'll head out on one last game drive and see the Serengeti in the golden light of sunrise. Afterwards, your guide will take you to Seronera Airstrip for your fly-out. Instead of a long return drive, you'll enjoy a relaxed flight and admire the endless plains from above – an unforgettable farewell! From here, you can fly on directly to Zanzibar and round off your adventure with a beach holiday.
