Daily Descriptions
Day 1: Arrival in Arusha – Usa River
After arriving at Kilimanjaro Airport, you'll be given a warm welcome and taken to the picturesque settlement of Usa River, just 23 kilometres east of Arusha. This idyllic spot lies between Ndurdoto Crater and Arusha National Park.
Use the day to settle in and explore the surroundings. Visit the Kikuletwa Hot Springs for a relaxing swim, or immerse yourself in Tanzania's rich coffee culture. In the evening, you'll receive a detailed briefing for the safari adventure ahead.
Day 2: Lake Burunge and Tarangire National Park
The drive takes you to Lake Burunge, one of the three great lakes in Tanzania's Manyara region. This lake lies right at the gateway to the famous Tarangire National Park – the land of giants. Tarangire is famous for its huge elephant herds and its majestic, ancient baobab trees. On extended game drives in a 4×4 vehicle, you'll look out for lions, leopards and the park's rich birdlife. In the evening, you'll enjoy a spectacular sunset over the lake as the animals come down to the water to drink.
Days 3–4: Safari in the Serengeti (Seronera)
You'll spend the next two days in the heart of the Serengeti, around the village of Seronera. The name "Serengeti" comes from the Maasai language – "Siringitu" means "the endless land." The national park covers almost 15,000 square kilometres and has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1981.
The Seronera region is regarded as Africa's "big cat capital" – elusive leopards and cheetahs live here in impressive numbers. Witness the legendary Great Migration, with over 1.5 million wildebeest and hundreds of thousands of zebras.
Day 5-6: Ngorongoro Region and Karatu
After one last game drive in the Serengeti, you'll travel to the lively town of Karatu on the edge of the Ngorongoro massif. This place is an important meeting point for the Maasai, who come for the weekly market. Stroll through the colourful stalls full of spices, fruit and handmade souvenirs.
From here, you'll explore the Ngorongoro Crater begins the "Eighth Natural Wonder of the World." The largest intact volcanic caldera in the world, it is home to around 25,000 large mammals and the highest predator density in Africa. Here you have excellent chances of spotting all of the Big Five in a single day, including the rare black rhino.
Days 7–8: Flight to Zanzibar – Stone Town
After breakfast, you'll be taken to the airport and fly to the spice island of Zanzibar. There, the salty sea breeze of the Indian Ocean greets you. Stone Town has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2000. Lose yourself in its winding alleyways, shaped by Arab, Indian and Portuguese influences. Visit the Sultan's Palace, the House of Wonders and the lively bazaars. The architecture of pale coral limestone and mangrove wood tells stories of traders and explorers.
Days 9-14: Beach vacation in Jambiani
The final six days of your 14-day trip to Tanzania are given over to pure relaxation. Jambiani lies on Zanzibar's southeast coast and enchants with white sandy beaches and turquoise water.
Here you can unwind completely, learn to kitesurf or explore the fascinating underwater world while snorkelling. Visit the local seaweed farms and get a close-up look at village life. Take part in a Swahili cooking class or visit a school – authentic encounters that make this journey unforgettable. On the final day, your transfer will take you to the airport.
