“Everything perfect – great trip and great price

Our safari with Safari Tanzania was unforgettable! Thanks to their collaboration with local providers, they offered us a huge selection of accommodations. While other providers were often hard to reach and had limited options, Safari Tanzania put together a tailor-made tour perfectly suited to our budget and preferences. We saw the Big Five and experienced the Great Migration! Our guide was top-notch, and the organization ran smoothly. Absolutely recommended for a personalized and affordable dream vacation!

Welcome to the land of giants! Tarangire is famous for its enormous elephant herds – the largest concentration in all of Tanzania. Majestic baobab trees dominate the landscape, creating an almost mystical atmosphere. Look out for tree-climbing pythons, lions, leopards, and the diverse birdlife. The Tarangire River attracts countless animals, especially during the dry season, making it a paradise for photographers and nature lovers!

Day 3: Lake Manyara and drive to Lake Eyasi

A day full of contrasts! You start with a safari in Lake Manyara National Park, known for its legendary tree-climbing lions and spectacular birdlife. Flamingos paint the lake shores pink, while hippos doze in the water.

Afterwards, you'll visit a traditional Maasai village and immerse yourself in the fascinating culture of this proud pastoral people. Experience traditional dances, learn about their way of life, and feel their warm hospitality. The journey continues to Lake Eyasi at the foot of the Great African Rift Valley. Here, unique cultural encounters await you tomorrow, making your 10-day safari in Tanzania truly special.

Day 4: Hadzabe and Datoga - Cultural Time Travel

Today you will experience one of the most extraordinary days of your trip! In the early morning, you will meet the Hadzabe, one of Africa's last hunter-gatherer peoples. Join them on a traditional bow and arrow hunt and experience a way of life that has remained unchanged for millennia.

In the afternoon, you will visit the Datoga people, known as master blacksmiths. Observe as they craft jewelry and tools from metal using traditional techniques, a craft passed down through generations. These authentic encounters offer a fascinating glimpse into Tanzania's cultural heritage, making this safari far more than just a wildlife viewing trip.

Day 5: Serengeti South – Ndutu Calving Ground

Welcome to Earth's greatest natural spectacle! Today you reach the Ndutu area in the southern Serengeti, the epicenter of calving season. Between January and March, over 1.5 million wildebeest gather here to give birth to their calves.

The drama of nature unfolds before your eyes! Thousands of newborn wildebeest take their first wobbly steps across the vast plains. This concentration of young animals attracts predators from all over the region – lions, cheetahs, and hyenas lurk everywhere. The tension is palpable, and every moment can become an unforgettable experience. The diverse landscape of swamps, woodlands, and short-grass savannahs offers perfect conditions for this 10-day safari in Tanzania.

Day 6: From Ndutu to Central Serengeti

The calving season continues to offer spectacular scenes! In the morning, you'll experience intense animal sightings again in the Ndutu area; the interactions between predators and prey are particularly dramatic here.

Next, you'll travel to the central Serengeti, whose name comes from the Maasai language and means „endless plains.“ The Seronera region is considered the „predator capital“ of Africa. With over 4,000 lions and 1,000 leopards, this part of the Serengeti offers excellent Big Five viewing opportunities year-round. The vast plains, dotted with iconic acacia trees, stretch to the horizon, just like in the nature documentaries that inspired you to take this trip!

Day 7: Full-day Safari in Central Serengeti

A full day in the heart of the wilderness! The Serengeti covers almost 15,000 square kilometers and has been a UNESCO World Heritage site since 1981. Today, you have ample time to explore this unique ecosystem.

From sunrise to the breathtaking starry sky, you become one with the rhythm of nature. Watch massive herds of wildebeest, zebras, and gazelles move across the endless plains. Lions doze in the shade of acacia trees, cheetahs scan the grasslands for prey, and elephant families move majestically through the savanna. Every game drive brings new surprises, this is the magic of the Serengeti and the centerpiece of your 10-day safari in Tanzania!

Day 8: Safari in the Ngorongoro Crater

Today, the „eighth wonder of the world“ awaits you, the Ngorongoro Craterr! This is the world's largest intact volcanic caldera, formed about 2.5 million years ago and a UNESCO World Natural Heritage site since 1979.

Feel like you're on Noah's Ark! The descent into the crater reveals a closed ecosystem with approximately 25,000 large mammals packed into just 260 square kilometers. This is home to Africa's highest density of predators, and your chances of spotting all of the Big Five in a single day are excellent, including the rare black rhino. Flamingos paint Lake Magadi pink, hippos wallow in the swamps, and lion prides rest in the tall grass. An unforgettable highlight!

Day 9: Cultural Visit in Mto wa Mbu

A day of contrasts and encounters! You'll visit the lively village of Mto wa Mbu at the foot of the Great African Rift Valley. Over 120 different ethnic groups live here peacefully together – a unique cultural mosaic.

Explore the lush banana plantations and rice fields that thrive thanks to a traditional irrigation system. Sample local delicacies, visit a traditional market, and experience authentic Tanzanian village life away from the tourist trails. This cultural immersion perfectly complements your 10-day safari in Tanzania, showing you a different, equally fascinating side of the country.

Day 10: Return to Arusha and Departure

The last day of your unforgettable journey has arrived. After breakfast, you will drive back to Arusha. Depending on your flight schedule, there will still be time to buy last-minute souvenirs or explore the city.

With hearts full of memories of newborn wildebeest, majestic lions, traditional Hadzabe dances, and the breathtaking view into the Ngorongoro Crater, you begin your journey home. This 10-day safari in Tanzania has shown you not only the spectacular wildlife but also the rich culture and warm hospitality of this fascinating country. Kwaheri / Goodbye, until next time!

“Top-organized safari with fantastic memories

Safari Tanzania, as an intermediary, enabled us to have highly individualized planning and saved us the effort of comparing dozens of providers online. They adapted everything to our wishes, connected us with the ideal local team, and offered flexible, prompt support – a relaxed highlight full of lasting memories.

Many safari organizers pushed for a personal call, only to offer a package tour in the end. Safari Tanzania sent us an offer after the first email, which we then minimally adjusted and swapped out one accommodation. This saved my girlfriend and me a lot of effort. Thank you very much!
