Day 1: Arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport
After landing at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO), you'll be given a warm welcome by your guide. As local experts, our guides know the country inside out – you're in the best hands from the very first moment to the last. The transfer takes you to Arushawhere you can get in the mood for the adventure ahead. Your unforgettable 7-day safari in Tanzania is ready to begin!
Day 2: Arusha – Tarangire National Park
Your safari adventure begins at 8:00 a.m.! A three-hour drive takes you to Tarangire National Park the land of giants. This park covers 2,800 square kilometres and lies just 115 km from Arusha.
Tarangire is famous for its huge elephant herds – the largest concentration anywhere in Tanzania! At the Tarangire River, which gives the park its name, the animals gather to drink – a spectacular sight. Keep an eye out for the majestic baobab trees, tree-climbing pythons, lions and leopards. On a full-day game drive, you'll experience this park's incredible variety of species. The perfect opening to your safari!
Day 3: Tarangire – Serengeti National Park
After breakfast, you'll load your luggage into the safari jeep and the journey continues to the world-famous Serengeti. The drive itself is an experience in its own right! You'll pass through the spectacular Rift Valley and enjoy breathtaking views of the Ngorongoro Crater.
In the afternoon, you'll reach the Central Serengeti and experience your first sunset over the endless plains. The name "Serengeti" comes from the Maasai language and means "endless plain" – and you'll soon understand why! This is the stage for the legendary Great Migration, where over 1.5 million wildebeest, zebras and gazelles move across the savannah. In the evening, you'll fall asleep in the Seronera area – right in the heart of the wild.
Day 4: Full-Day Safari in the Serengeti
A whole day belongs to the Serengeti – arguably the most famous national park in the world. Your experienced guide will take you to the best spots for wildlife viewing.
The best chance to witness the Great Migration is from June to September. During this period, you can watch the spectacular river crossings at the Mara River in the northern Serengeti – a natural spectacle of the very highest order! From January to March, the calving season takes place in the Southern Serengeti. Alongside the migrating herds, the Serengeti is home to lions, leopards, cheetahs and hyenas, always lurking nearby. After an unforgettable day, you'll return to your camp – the starry sky above the savannah is breathtaking!
Day 5: Serengeti – Ngorongoro Crater
Getting up early pays off! At 5:45 a.m., you'll witness the magical sunrise over the Serengeti. After breakfast, you'll head out on one last morning game drive – the animals are especially active in the cool early hours.
After lunch, the journey continues to the Ngorongoro Crater. Along the way, there are further chances of spectacular wildlife sightings. In the evening, you'll reach the crater rim and look down into the vast caldera – a lost paradise regarded as the Eighth Wonder of the World.
Day 6: Safari in the Ngorongoro Crater – Arusha
At 5:30 a.m., the descent into the Ngorongoro Crater begins. This UNESCO World Heritage Site is the largest intact volcanic caldera in the world and is home to around 25,000 large mammals in just 260 square kilometres.
Within just a few minutes you'll see wildebeest, zebras, gazelles, elephants and, with a little luck, the rare black rhino. The wildlife density is so high that this is your best chance of spotting all of the Big Five in a single day! Watch flamingos on the crater lake during your picnic. After 6–7 hours of game driving, you'll leave this natural paradise behind and travel back to Arusha.
Day 7: Departure
The final day of your 7-day safari in Tanzania has arrived. With a heart full of memories – endless savannahs, majestic elephants and the breathtaking starry skies above the wilderness – you'll be taken to Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) or Arusha Airport (ARK).
