Day 1: Arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport
After landing at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you'll be given a warm welcome by your private guide. The scent of Africa hangs in the air as you're driven to Arusha. In the evening, you'll receive a detailed safari briefing in which your guide prepares you for the adventure ahead. Enjoy a relaxed evening and build up your energy for the day to come.
Day 2: Arusha – Tarangire National Park
Your safari adventure begins in the land of giants! After breakfast, you'll drive to Tarangire National Park, roughly 115 km from Arusha. This park is famous for its huge elephant herds and the majestic, ancient baobab trees that dominate the landscape.
On a full-day game drive along the Tarangire River, you'll look out for lions, leopards and the park's rich birdlife. The river is the park's lifeline and draws countless animals, especially during the dry season.
Day 3: Tarangire – Central Serengeti
Today your journey takes you into the famous Serengeti! The drive itself is an experience in its own right – you'll pass through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and watch the landscape transform dramatically into the endless golden grass plains you know from countless nature documentaries.
In the afternoon, you'll explore the Central Serengeti around the Seronera Valley – Africa's "big cat capital"! This region offers spectacular wildlife viewing year-round, with lions, leopards, cheetahs, giraffes and large herds of wildebeest and zebras. Enjoy a private sunset experience as the sun sinks below the savannah. The Serengeti has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1981 – and you're right in the middle of it!
Day 4: Serengeti Western Corridor – Grumeti River Crossings
As an option, you can start the day with a hot-air balloon flight over the waking Serengeti – a magical experience from a bird's-eye view. Afterwards, you'll head into the Western Corridor, where you'll experience the Great Migration up close.
Watch the breathtaking spectacle as vast herds of wildebeest and zebras cross the crocodile-infested Grumeti River. The tension is palpable – predators lie in wait everywhere. In the evening, an unforgettable bush dinner awaits you beneath the African stars.
Day 5: Northern Serengeti – Mara River Crossings
Today you'll travel into the Northern Serengeti – the stage for the legendary Mara River crossings! This is where one of the most dramatic natural spectacles on Earth unfolds: hundreds of thousands of wildebeest and zebras plunge into the raging waters while hungry crocodiles wait.
You'll spend the whole day following the massive herds as they bravely make their way across the water. Your guide knows the best vantage points for this unforgettable spectacle. Enjoy an exclusive picnic lunch in the heart of the wilderness, followed by a game drive at sunset.
Day 6: Serengeti – Ngorongoro Crater Rim
After one last morning game drive in the Serengeti, you'll travel to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. In the afternoon, the choice is yours: take a guided walking safari with Maasai warriors, or visit a traditional Maasai village for an authentic cultural experience.
Your lodge on the crater rim offers a front-row seat with a view that's almost too good to be true. From up here, look down into the vast caldera – a lost paradise regarded as the "Eighth Wonder of the World."
Day 7: Safari in the Ngorongoro Crater – Departure
The crowning finale of your 7-day safari in Tanzania! At sunrise, you'll descend into the Ngorongoro Crater begins – this UNESCO World Heritage Site is home to around 25,000 large mammals in just 260 square kilometres and has the highest predator density in Africa.
Here you have excellent chances of spotting all of the Big Five in a single morning – including the rare black rhino. Watch flamingos on the soda lake and lions on the hunt. After a scenic brunch in the crater, you'll be taken to Kilimanjaro Airport. As an option, you can extend your trip with a beach holiday in Zanzibar.
