Day 1: Arrival in Arusha
After landing at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you'll be given a warm welcome by your guide and driven to Arusha – Tanzania's safari capital. In the evening, you'll receive a detailed safari briefing in which your guide prepares you for the days ahead.
Day 2: Arusha – Tarangire National Park
After breakfast, you'll set off in your private 4×4 safari vehicle to Tarangire National Park the land of giants. This park is famous for its huge elephant herds and the majestic, ancient baobab trees that dominate the landscape.
On extended game drives along the Tarangire River, you'll look out for elephants, giraffes, zebras and lions. The wildlife density here is remarkable – you won't know where to look first! Tarangire offers excellent wildlife viewing and the perfect start to your safari.
Day 3: Central Serengeti (Seronera)
Today your journey takes you into the world-famous Serengeti – one of the most legendary wildlife areas on Earth. The name comes from the Maasai language and means "endless plain."
The central Seronera region is regarded as Africa's "big cat capital" and offers spectacular wildlife viewing year-round. On your game drives, you'll encounter lions, cheetahs, elephants and a rich variety of birdlife. The iconic acacia trees and the wide horizons of the Serengeti plains create a scene you know from countless nature documentaries – except now you're seeing it live!
Day 4: Northern Serengeti – The Great Migration
Today you'll drive into the Northern Serengeti – one of the best places in the world to witness the legendary Great Migration.
Depending on the season, you'll watch millions of wildebeest and zebras moving across the plains, closely followed by predators. The dramatic crossings at the Mara River are a natural spectacle of the very highest order – crocodiles lurk in the water while the herds brave the perilous passage. This is one of the greatest natural events on our planet.
Day 5: Serengeti – Ngorongoro Conservation Area
After a short morning game drive in the Serengeti, you'll travel to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. The drive itself is an experience in its own right – enjoy the dramatically shifting landscapes of the Tanzanian highlands.
Once at the crater rim, a view awaits that's almost too good to be true. Look down into the vast caldera – a lost paradise regarded as the "Eighth Wonder of the World." The anticipation of tomorrow's safari highlight builds as you enjoy the sunset over the crater.
Day 6: Ngorongoro Crater – Lake Manyara
Early in the morning, you'll descend into the Ngorongoro-Krater – – a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the most spectacular ecosystems on Earth. The caldera is 610 metres deep and home to around 25,000 large mammals in just 260 square kilometres.
Here you have the best chance of spotting the Big Five in a single day – including the critically endangered black rhino! After this unforgettable experience, you'll continue on to Lake Manyara National Park, known for its tree-climbing lions and the thousands of flamingos along its lakeshore.
Day 7: Lake Manyara – Arusha
The penultimate day of your safari begins with a morning game drive in Lake Manyara National ParkThe park offers a landscape all of its own – from dense forest to open grassland along the lakeshore.
Keep an eye out for the famous tree-climbing lions, elephants, giraffes and the spectacular birdlife, with over 400 species. Afterwards, you'll drive back to Arusha, where you'll have time to explore the city or simply let the impressions of the past few days pass before you once more.
Day 8: Arusha – Departure
The final day of your safari has arrived. Enjoy a relaxed breakfast before your transfer takes you to Kilimanjaro International Airport. With a heart full of memories – endless savannahs, majestic wildlife and the Great Migration – you'll set off for home.
