Customer testimonial

“Everything perfect – great trip and great price

Our safari with Safari Tanzania was unforgettable! Thanks to their collaboration with local providers, they offered us a huge selection of accommodations. While other providers were often hard to reach and had limited options, Safari Tanzania put together a tailor-made tour perfectly suited to our budget and preferences. We saw the Big Five and experienced the Great Migration! Our guide was top-notch, and the organization ran smoothly. Absolutely recommended for a personalized and affordable dream vacation!

Daily Descriptions

Day 1: Arusha – Tarangire National Park

Karibu Tanzania! At 8:00 a.m., you'll be picked up from your hotel in Arusha and your 8-day safari in Tanzania begins. The 150 km drive takes you to Tarangire National park.

in around three hours. This 3,000 km² park is the land of giants! Right from your first game drive, you'll be greeted by ancient, enormous baobab trees that make even giraffes look tiny. The Tarangire River, the park's lifeline, draws an incredible variety of wildlife. This is home to Tanzania's largest concentration of elephants – watch the fascinating interactions between elephant families! Lions, giraffes, antelope and zebras complete the picture of this safari paradise. A picnic lunch during your game drive keeps you going through the afternoon.

Day 2: Central Serengeti (Seronera)

After breakfast, you'll travel into the world-famous Serengeti – the name means "endless plains" in the Maasai language. Watch as the landscape transforms dramatically: the grass plains stretch to the horizon, where they seem to merge with the sky. An absolutely breathtaking sight!

The Central Serengeti, known as the Seronera region, is one of the park's richest wildlife habitats. The Seronera River provides a valuable water source and attracts spectacular game year-round. This region is regarded as Africa's "big cat capital" – keep an eye out for the numerous lion prides that live here! The Serengeti is home to the largest remaining concentration of plains game anywhere in Africa, including the legendary Big Five.

Day 3: Central Serengeti – Northern Serengeti

At 8:00 a.m., after a hearty breakfast, you'll set off northwards. The drive through the Serengeti is an experience in its own right – wildlife sightings crop up again and again along the way.

As you approach the Kogatende region in the north, the terrain changes dramatically. The flat grass plains give way to a hilly, rugged landscape. A wide variety of wildlife lives here year-round: zebras, topi, gazelles, buffalo, leopards and lions. Depending on your arrival time, you'll spend your first hours at the legendary Mara River – the setting for the most dramatic scenes of the Great Migration. The anticipation is building!

Days 4–5: Northern Serengeti – The Great Migration

Two full days at the epicentre of the Great Migration! From mid-June to September, one of the most spectacular natural events in the world takes place here – the crossing of the Mara River.

Watch as thousands of wildebeest surge through the raging waters while crocodiles lie in wait. Some drown, others fall prey to the predators – an unforgettable, deeply moving sight that reveals the raw power of nature. With a little luck, you'll witness this natural wonder for yourself! You may also follow the herds into the Lobo Valley, where permanent water sources draw large numbers of animals during the dry season. Watch lions and cheetahs shadow the herds – predator action at its finest on this one-of-a-kind 8-day Tanzania safari!

Day 6: Return to Central Serengeti

After breakfast, the four-hour drive takes you back to the Central Serengeti. The route from the Mara River Valley leads through hill country, the Lobo area and woodland before you reach the Seronera terrain once more.

Welcome back to the pulse of the wild! The Seronera region is one of the richest wildlife habitats in the entire park. Watch as the hilly terrain gives way once again to the characteristic grass plains. The region's numerous lion prides make for excellent wildlife viewing all year round – their interactions and their struggle to survive are fascinating to watch. A full-day game drive with a picnic lunch leaves nothing to be desired.

Day 7: Serengeti – Ngorongoro Highlands

Today you'll leave the Serengeti behind and travel to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Enjoy the wonderfully varied drive through different landscape zones and let the impressions of the past few days pass before you once more.

Once at the crater rim, a view awaits that's almost too good to be true. From up here, look down into the vast caldera – a lost paradise regarded as the Eighth Wonder of the World. The Ngorongoro Crater begins is the largest intact, non-flooded volcanic caldera in the world, with a crater floor of 260 km² and walls over 600 meters high. Enjoy the sunset and anticipation for tomorrow's highlight of your 8-day Tanzania safari!

Day 8: Ngorongoro Crater – Arusha

The crowning finale! Your day begins particularly early today. At 6:30 AM, you'll descend to the crater floor for a five-hour game drive in the morning light, when the animals are most active. Have your camera ready!

Feel like you're on Noah's Ark! The crater houses the largest concentration of wildlife on Earth. Elephants with particularly large tusks – favored by the mineral-rich volcanic soil – buffalo, black rhino, hippos, hyenas, cheetahs, and lions are numerous here. A picnic lunch at the beautiful Hippo Pool completes the experience. Then begins the ascent out of the crater and the four-hour drive back to Arusha, arriving around 6:00 PM. With hearts full of memories, your 8-day safari in Tanzania comes to an end.

“Top-organized safari with fantastic memories

Safari Tanzania, as an intermediary, enabled us to have highly individualized planning and saved us the effort of comparing dozens of providers online. They adapted everything to our wishes, connected us with the ideal local team, and offered flexible, prompt support – a relaxed highlight full of lasting memories.

Many safari organizers pushed for a personal call, only to offer a package tour in the end. Safari Tanzania sent us an offer after the first email, which we then minimally adjusted and swapped out one accommodation. This saved my girlfriend and me a lot of effort. Thank you very much!
