“Everything perfect – great trip and great price

Our safari with Safari Tanzania was unforgettable! Thanks to their collaboration with local providers, they offered us a huge selection of accommodations. While other providers were often hard to reach and had limited options, Safari Tanzania put together a tailor-made tour perfectly suited to our budget and preferences. We saw the Big Five and experienced the Great Migration! Our guide was top-notch, and the organization ran smoothly. Absolutely recommended for a personalized and affordable dream vacation!

Daily Descriptions

Day 1: Arrival in Arusha

After landing at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO), you'll be given a warm welcome and taken to your accommodation in Arusha Relax after your journey and get in the mood for the adventure ahead.

Day 2: Safari in Tarangire National Park

At 8:00 a.m. you'll be picked up and your safari adventure begins! The drive takes you to Tarangire National Park a truly special place with nine different vegetation zones.

This park is the land of giants! Tarangire is famous for its ancient baobab trees, which dominate the landscape and make the animals beside them look tiny. This is home to the largest concentration of elephants anywhere in Tanzania. The Tarangire River draws lions, leopards, zebras, giraffes, buffalo, antelope and a rich variety of birdlife.

Day 3: Drive to the Serengeti

After breakfast, you'll travel into the famous Serengeti. The drive itself is an experience in its own right – you'll cross the fertile highlands where the Iraqw people grow wheat, coffee and maize. Along the way you'll pass through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and catch your first glimpse of the breathtaking crater.

The Serengeti is Tanzania's oldest national park and one of the oldest ecosystems on Earth. The wide, open grassland makes for excellent wildlife viewing conditions. The park is known for its outstanding big cat sightings and for the annual Great Migration, in which millions of wildebeest and zebras move across the savannah in search of fresh grass.

Day 4: Full-Day Safari in the Serengeti

On this 9-day safari in Tanzania, you'll have the time to experience the Serengeti in all its glory. Your guide will shape the day flexibly around your wishes – whether that's an early morning game drive, a midday break and an afternoon safari, or a full day out with a picnic in the savannah.

The Serengeti is home to impalas, buffalo, crocodiles and hippos, but it's world-famous for the Great Migration. The timing varies with the rains – from November to December, the herds move from the wooded hills in the north to the grass plains in the south, and from April to June they return. Predators are never far from the migrating herds – leopards, cheetahs and lions all waiting for their chance.

Day 5: Serengeti and the Ngorongoro Crater

After one last game drive in the Serengeti, your journey takes you to the highlight of any Tanzania safari – the Ngorongoro Crater! You'll descend into the almost 610-metre-deep caldera, formed two to three million years ago when an immense volcano collapsed.

The crater is famous for its geological wonders and is home to one of the densest populations of large mammals on the entire African continent. Among the wildebeest, zebras, gazelles and over 500 bird species, this is your best chance of glimpsing the endangered black rhino. After extensive game drives in this UNESCO World Heritage Site, you'll continue on to Karatu.

Day 6: Flight to Zanzibar

After breakfast, you'll be taken to the airport in Arusha and fly to Sansibar. Swap your safari boots for flip-flops – the romantic part of your 9-day trip to Tanzania begins!

On arrival, the salty sea breeze of the Indian Ocean greets you. A transfer takes you straight to your beach hotel. Let yourself be enchanted by the magic of the spice island and enjoy the perfect finale to your honeymoon safari.

Day 7: Spice farm and Stone Town tour

Today you'll immerse yourself in Zanzibar's history and culture! In the morning, you'll visit a traditional spice farm, where you can discover and taste a range of spices and seasonal fruits. Zanzibar didn't earn the name "spice island" for nothing!

In the afternoon, you'll explore Stone Town, the historic heart of Zanzibar and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Lose yourself in the winding alleyways of this fascinating port city, once the centre of a trading network that stretched across the Indian Ocean to Persia and India. Visit the historic slave market and the lively Darajani Market, and marvel at the distinctive architecture of the multi-storey coral stone houses.

Day 8: A Day at the Beach in Zanzibar

This day is given over entirely to relaxation and forms the perfect contrast to your exhilarating safari. Feel the powder-soft sand between your toes and swim in the crystal-clear turquoise water of the Indian Ocean.

Fancy something more? Depending on your preferences, optional activities can be arranged – a dolphin tour, an excursion to Prison Island with its giant tortoises, an exploration of Jozani Forest or a romantic dhow cruise at sunset.

Day 9: Departure from Zanzibar

The final day of your 9-day trip to Tanzania has arrived. Depending on your flight time, there's still a chance to pick up some last souvenirs or enjoy a fresh juice with a view of the sea. With a heart full of memories, your transfer will take you to Zanzibar Airport (ZNZ) in good time for your return flight.

“Top-organized safari with fantastic memories

Safari Tanzania, as an intermediary, enabled us to have highly individualized planning and saved us the effort of comparing dozens of providers online. They adapted everything to our wishes, connected us with the ideal local team, and offered flexible, prompt support – a relaxed highlight full of lasting memories.

Many safari organizers pushed for a personal call, only to offer a package tour in the end. Safari Tanzania sent us an offer after the first email, which we then minimally adjusted and swapped out one accommodation. This saved my girlfriend and me a lot of effort. Thank you very much!
