“Everything perfect – great trip and great price
Our safari with Safari Tanzania was unforgettable! Thanks to their collaboration with local providers, they offered us a huge selection of accommodations. While other providers were often hard to reach and had limited options, Safari Tanzania put together a tailor-made tour perfectly suited to our budget and preferences. We saw the Big Five and experienced the Great Migration! Our guide was top-notch, and the organization ran smoothly. Absolutely recommended for a personalized and affordable dream vacation!

Daily Descriptions

Day 1: Arrival at Kilimanjaro Airport
After landing at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you'll be given a warm welcome by your guide. Use the rest of the day to relax, or optionally explore the lively city Arusha with its colourful markets and views of majestic Mount Meru. In the evening, you'll receive a detailed briefing on the adventure ahead.

Day 2: Safari in Tarangire National Park
Today you'll drive to Tarangire National Park the land of giants. This park is famous for its huge elephant herds and the majestic, ancient baobab trees that dominate the landscape.
On a private game drive along the Tarangire River, you'll look out for lions, leopards and the varied wildlife this park is known for. The river is the park's lifeline and draws countless animals, especially during the dry season. To round off the day, an unforgettable sundowner experience awaits – enjoy a drink as the African sun turns the sky gold and red!

Day 3: Tarangire – Serengeti National Park
The drive itself is an experience in its own right – you'll pass through the Ngorongoro Highlands, where the Iraqw people grow wheat, coffee and maize. The name Serengeti comes from the Maasai language and means "endless plain."
On your game drive through the Central Serengeti, you'll encounter giraffes, big cats and countless hoofed animals. The wide horizons stretching across the acacia-dotted savannah will leave you speechless. In the evening, you'll reach your camp in good time for an atmospheric sunset game drive.

Day 4: Full-Day Safari in the Serengeti
The Serengeti is home to an impressive predator population, with over 4,000 lions, 1,000 leopards and 3,500 hyenas – it's regarded as Africa's "big cat capital."
Depending on the season, you'll witness parts of the legendary Great Migration, in which over 1.5 million wildebeest along with hundreds of thousands of zebras and gazelles move across the savannah. Impalas, buffalo, crocodiles and hippos are everywhere. A private picnic lunch in the heart of the wilderness makes this day of your 9-day safari in Tanzania especially unforgettable.

Day 5: Northern Serengeti – Mara River Crossings
You'll travel into the remote Northern Serengeti, where the famous Mara River crossings take place – one of the most dramatic events in the animal kingdom.
Watch thousands of wildebeest cross the crocodile-filled waters of the Mara River – a moment of pure tension and raw natural power! On a private game drive along the riverbanks, you'll see predators in action as they wait for their prey. This unforgettable experience is only possible during the migration season (July–October).

Day 6: Serengeti – Ngorongoro & Maasai Culture
After one last morning game drive in the Serengeti, you'll travel to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. But before you reach the crater, a cultural highlight awaits.
Enjoy a guided walk with Maasai warriors or visit a traditional Maasai village. Learn about their centuries-old traditions, their way of life in harmony with the wild, and their rich history. In the evening, you'll then reach the crater rim.

Day 7: Safari in the Ngorongoro Crater
Early risers are rewarded with breathtaking views as the sun comes up over the crater rim. After breakfast, you'll descend into the Ngorongoro Crater.
This UNESCO World Heritage Site was formed millions of years ago when an enormous volcano collapsed. At 610 metres deep and covering 260 square kilometres, the crater is home to around 25,000 large mammals – the highest wildlife density of any park in Tanzania! Within just a few minutes you'll see wildebeest, zebras, gazelles, elephants and, with a little luck, the rare black rhino.

Day 8: Lake Manyara National Park – Arusha
The Lake Manyara National Park is famous for its tree-climbing lions – a rare phenomenon found in only a handful of places worldwide.
On a private game drive through the lush groundwater forest, you'll discover a rich variety of birdlife and watch flamingos along the lakeshore. The panoramic views from the Great Rift Valley escarpment are spectacular. In the afternoon, you'll drive back to Arusha, where you'll spend your final safari night.

Day 9: Departure or Zanzibar Extension
The final day of your 9-day safari in Tanzania has arrived. After breakfast, you'll be taken to Kilimanjaro International Airport. With unforgettable impressions of the wild, the Maasai and the breathtaking landscapes, you'll set off for home.
Not ready to head home just yet? Extend your adventure with a few relaxing days on the spice island of Zanzibar! Swap your safari boots for flip-flops and unwind on turquoise beaches. Ask us about an extension option – the perfect combination of safari and beach!

Customer testimonial
“Top-organized safari with fantastic memories
Safari Tanzania, as an intermediary, enabled us to have highly individualized planning and saved us the effort of comparing dozens of providers online. They adapted everything to our wishes, connected us with the ideal local team, and offered flexible, prompt support – a relaxed highlight full of lasting memories.
Many safari organizers pushed for a personal call, only to offer a package tour in the end. Safari Tanzania sent us an offer after the first email, which we then minimally adjusted and swapped out one accommodation. This saved my girlfriend and me a lot of effort. Thank you very much!
