Day 1: Arrival at Kilimanjaro Airport – Arusha
Welcome to Tanzania! After landing at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you’ll be warmly welcomed by your guide. The scent of Africa fills the air as you make your way to your hotel in Arusha ...you'll be brought to.
The rest of the day is entirely yours – relax and soak up the African atmosphere. Use the time to adjust to the new time zone and build up your energy for the adventures ahead. Tomorrow morning, your 6-day safari in Tanzania begins!
Day 2: Safari in Lake Manyara National Park
After breakfast, your journey takes you through the spectacular Great Rift Valley to Lake Manyara National Park. Although this enchanting park covers just 330 km², it's a real gem!
The park is famous for its tree-climbing lions – a rare phenomenon you may be lucky enough to witness here. Lush acacia woodland with giant fig and mahogany trees is home to baboons and blue monkeys. Numerous hippos gather at the Hippo Pool, while buffalo, giraffes, elephants and impalas roam the park.
A paradise for bird lovers! Over 400 bird species live here, among them the rare ground hornbill and the crowned eagle. Game drives along the lakeshore offer fantastic photo opportunities – giraffes and buffalo in the foreground, the lake with its pink flamingos on the horizon.
Day 3: Drive to the Serengeti – Oldupai Gorge
Today a spectacular drive into the world-famous Serengeti awaits you! The route takes you up over the crater highlands, where you'll stop at the rim of the Ngorongoro Crater for a first breathtaking look down into the vast caldera.
From there you'll continue on to the legendary Oldupai Gorge, where Dr Louis and Mary Leakey discovered the remains of the first upright-walking humans. After a short talk about the archaeological excavations, you'll visit the small museum – a fascinating insight into the story of humankind.
Then the endless expanse of the Serengeti opens up before you – "Siringet" means "endless plains" in the Maasai language. This 18,000 km² park is home to over two million large mammals! In the afternoon, you'll enjoy your first game drive in this world-famous ecosystem.
Day 4: Full-Day Safari in Serengeti National Park
Welcome to the pulse of the wild! A whole day belongs to the Serengeti – morning and afternoon, you'll roam the vast savannahs on extended game drives.
The Serengeti is home to over a million wildebeest, hundreds of thousands of zebras and Thomson's gazelles. This abundance of prey is a magnet for predators: lions, cheetahs and hyenas are everywhere here. Smaller residents such as rock hyraxes, bat-eared foxes, mongooses, honey badgers and jackals, along with almost 500 bird species, add even more to this unique ecosystem.
Depending on the season, you'll witness parts of the legendary Great Migration – one of the most spectacular natural events on Earth! From sunrise to a breathtaking canopy of stars, you'll fall into step with the rhythm of the African wilderness.

Day 5: Serengeti – Drive to the Ngorongoro Crater Rim
A day of unforgettable moments! Wake very early for a game drive before breakfast – this is when the animals are at their most active, and you'll witness one of the most beautiful sunrises of your life over the African savannah.
After brunch, you'll leave the Serengeti behind and travel to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area – the "Eighth Natural Wonder of the World." The drive itself is an experience in its own right as the landscape changes dramatically.
The Ngorongoro Crater begins is the largest intact volcanic caldera in the world: walls 600 metres high enclose a crater floor of 260 km². It's home to the highest concentration of wildlife anywhere on the planet! Thanks to the mineral-rich volcanic soil, the crater's bull elephants carry especially impressive tusks – the most striking you'll ever see. Enjoy the sunset from the crater rim.
Day 6: Safari in the Ngorongoro Crater – Arusha
The crowning finale of your 6-day safari in Tanzania! Very early in the morning, you'll descend to the crater floor for a day of wildlife viewing in one of the most incredible places on Earth.
It's like stepping into Noah's Ark, as the crater is home to almost every animal species native to East Africa – including the rare black rhino. A river, several marshes, a soda lake full of flamingos, woodland and open plains make up this unique ecosystem. Here you have the best chance of seeing the Big Five in a single day!
At Hippo Lake, you'll enjoy a picnic with spectacular views. After one last afternoon game drive, the steep road leads you up and out of the crater.
