Awali Serengeti Camp

Right in the middle of Serengeti National Park, on Rongai Hill in the central Serengeti, stands Awali Serengeti Camp. With only eight tents it is a small camp; the tents rest on raised decks, and in front of each one is a veranda with loungers. The bathroom has not one but two showers, one inside and one outside under the open sky, for anyone who takes the safari feeling really seriously. Electricity and hot water are available around the clock, the power comes from the sun, the Wi-Fi reaches all the way into your tent, and families with two children will find more room in the family tent. Meals are served in the dining tent with a view across the savannah, and after dinner the lounge tent awaits, where, incidentally, a film is sometimes shown on the projector in the evening. By day it’s off on game drives, of course, on walking safaris or, at sunrise, up in a hot-air balloon over the plains.
