Lake Manyara Tortilis Camp

Lake Manyara Tortilis Camp

Tents by the Rift Valley with lake views

  • Mid-Range

Behind Lake Manyara Tortilis Camp rises the wall of the Great Rift Valley, and in front of it the wide expanse of the lake opens up. The fully equipped tents stand in a row, each with its own seating area for watching wildlife, a bathroom with a separate shower and private toilet, and solar power around the clock. Stays are on a full-board basis, and breakfast comes as a large buffet with fruit, muesli, cold cuts and cheese. The camp particularly recommends a guided walk, plus birdwatching, since thousands of flamingos live on the lake for a large part of the year. Even so, a night in Lake Manyara National Park won’t necessarily be a quiet one, as the camp warns of roaring lions and visits from hyenas and buffalo. So you probably won’t need an alarm clock.
