Manyara Baobab Lodge

Lodge among baobabs at Lake Manyara

  • Mid-Range

As the name gives away, tall baobabs grow all around Manyara Baobab Lodge, and the lodge itself sits on the alkaline shore of Lake Manyara. It belongs to Pamoja Africa, a Tanzanian-owned group (Pamoja is Swahili for “together”). The 30 rooms are surrounded by the trees, and from the infinity pool you look out over the lake and the baobabs. By day there are game drives in Lake Manyara National Park, guided walking safaris, canoe trips and cultural tours to the surrounding villages, and in the evening fresh Tanzanian cuisine in the restaurant and a drink at the bar. The rooms, by the way, are named after animals such as Flamingo or Pelican, and with a bit of luck you’ll see their namesakes right outside on the lake.
