Marera Valley Lodge

On the edge of Karatu, roughly halfway between Lake Manyara and Ngorongoro Crater, lies Marera Valley Lodge, not far from the village of Rhotia and conveniently located on the main road. The rooms are spread across double cottages in a tropical garden, each with a private veranda, fireplace and spacious bathroom, and there are family and interconnecting rooms too. The kitchen cooks with vegetables from its own organic garden and from farms in the area. A footpath leads all the way around this garden, in case you want to see where your dinner grows. After that, the pool, the Rosemary Spa with its massages and, in the evening, the campfire beckon, and in the cooler season a fire burns in the bar and lounge as well. Wi-Fi is available in the communal areas, and the lodge is open all year.
