Mawe Tented Camp

Mawe Tented Camp stands on the Ngarenanyuki River in the Soit Le Motonyi area, on the plains of the central and eastern Serengeti. Seronera is around 26 kilometres away, the airstrip there is 30 to 45 minutes off, and that drive is your very first game drive. The ten tents stand in a row with plenty of space between them, all with a view of the plain and a private bathroom with flush toilet and hot shower. Solar panels provide light and power for charging, and breakfast, lunch and dinner are included in the price. The team organises game drives and walking safaris straight from the camp, balloon flights can be booked there too, and the evening follows a set routine: first a drink overlooking the plain, then the campfire. It’s a routine you get used to surprisingly quickly.
