Serengeti Tortilis Camp
Camp in the heart of the Serengeti, near a river
From Seronera airstrip it’s about a 30-minute drive to Serengeti Tortilis Camp, which lies in the heart of the Serengeti, not far from a river. The tents come as single, double, twin, triple and family tents, each with a flush toilet and a mixer tap for hot and cold water. Electricity comes from a solar system with battery storage. There’s no air conditioning, but there is free Wi-Fi in the tents and in some communal areas. The kitchen provides a generous breakfast and packs lunch boxes for the road. A dinner in the bush under the starry sky comes recommended. In the evening, everyone gathers for sundowners by the campfire. Game drives, balloon safaris, bush lunches and even yoga can be arranged. Good to know: the camp is unfenced, and the animals have free access. Knocking, though, isn’t really one of their habits.
