Lake Natron & Engaresero Waterfalls Guided Walk

Lake Natron & Engaresero Waterfalls Guided Walk

Lake Natron in northern Tanzania is one of the world's most important breeding grounds for lesser flamingos; its extremely alkaline water and the surrounding salt crusts shape an otherworldly landscape at the foot of the volcano Ol Doinyo Lengai.

Lake Natron & Engaresero Waterfalls Guided Walk at a glance

Lake Natron is one of the most important breeding grounds for lesser flamingos in the world; its extremely alkaline water and the salt crusts all around create a landscape that looks like another planet, towered over by the Ol Doinyo Lengai volcano. The guided walk follows the Engaresero stream through a gorge to waterfalls where swimming is allowed. An honest word: the area is hot and remote, and the drive there is long; in return, you will hardly see any other vehicles here.
