Walking Safari

Walking Safari

On a walking safari, the landscape is explored on foot rather than from a vehicle, accompanied by a guide and, in many areas, an armed ranger as well.

Walking Safari at a glance

On a walking safari you swap the jeep for your own two feet, accompanied by a guide and, in many areas, an armed ranger as well. Suddenly different things matter: tracks, dung, termite mounds, the wind. In Arusha National Park the long loop takes six to eight hours and passes a waterfall, Ngurdoto Crater and the Momella Lakes, with giraffes, buffaloes and zebras at eye level; minimum age twelve. Shorter routes are available depending on the area. Incidentally, on foot you deliberately do not go looking for big cats.
