Zanzibar Mnemba Snorkeling
Mnemba Island lies off the north-east coast of Unguja, the main island of the Zanzibar Archipelago, and is surrounded by a coral reef within a marine conservation area.
Zanzibar Mnemba Snorkeling at a glance
The small island of Mnemba lies around three kilometres off Zanzibar's north-east coast; its reef is a marine conservation area and one of the most popular snorkelling spots in the region: clear water, coral, shoals of colourful fish, and sometimes dolphins passing by. You go out by boat and snorkel at several stops, and guides accompany beginners too. Please note: the island itself is private, so the snorkelling happens on the reef; visibility and currents depend on the tides and the weather.
