Ndutu (Ngorongoro) Conservation Area at a glance
Ndutu lies in the south of the Serengeti ecosystem, within the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, and has a fixed place in the calendar of the Great Migration. From December to March the herds are here, and in February the calving season reaches its peak. On some days, thousands of wildebeest calves are then born on the short-grass plains, and cheetahs, lions and hyenas are rarely far away. Ndutu is not included in the fixed routes; for the calving season we put together a tailor-made route for you.

Best time to travel
December to March, when the herds are in the south; in February the calving season is at its peak. Outside these months the herds move on, and Ndutu becomes much quieter.
