Africa Safari South Serengeti
Tented camp one kilometre from Lake Ndutu
One kilometre from Lake Ndutu, in the Ngorongoro Conservation Area between the Serengeti and the Ngorongoro Crater, stand the tents of Africa Safari South Serengeti. The area is famous for the calving season of the Great Migration. The 15 units form two wings: nine in the Safari Comfort category at 40 and six in the Luxury Glamping category at 60 square metres. The classic safari tents have their own bathroom and locally made furniture, while five further safari tents share a toilet and shower. Power comes from the sun and a generator, the food in the restaurant tent with its wooden furniture is hearty, and afterwards it’s on to the bar and lounge, which, incidentally, is also where you’ll find the Wi-Fi. You can hire a safari jeep with a pop-up roof on request, though you’re not allowed to drive it yourself, which presumably reassures the wildebeest.
